Incredible situation where no matter you are in the world US politics will fuck you over, endanger you, or even kill you.

Ignorance of US politics leaves you out of plenty of opportunity & awareness, but engagement as an outsider with anything but full empathy is unacceptable.
Shit sucks and I'm sorry, but at least US shit is top of the trends every fucking day. Fires in the US? World news, photos everywhere. Donation drives all over. Sudan floods? Crickets. US elections? RBG? Tonight's debate? Can't fucking dodge it if you try.
If you're a US citizen and looking at the rest of the world looking into your country as you prepare to deal with the madness of your elections, remember that you get the tiniest say in whether your people get bombed, extorted, exploited, or otherwise hurt with 0 say in it.
If there's one thing I can't stand it's this notion that the entire planet should have continuous full empathy & awareness for everything happening in the US. We have our own shit to deal with, and it's often shit caused by the US in the first place. Shit US folks never heard of.
So sincerely: US folks can fuck off telling folks outside the US how we can or should talk about the US elections. We're already forced to speak in your language about your news, news that often directly is fucking up our lives. We *have* to care about your news.
See if you can avoid making a tired joke or snapback across ten years of exhausting discourse that you have absolutely zero say in but does directly fuck your economy and country and life and privacy and safety & the future and sustainability of the planet.
Anyway, yes I'm pissed off. Call me when US politics isn't the keeper of the largest purse, the biggest stick, and the largest media, news, and culture export in the world.

Or when US folks acknowledge that weird uncomfortable privilege. That seems less likely to happen tho.
