My goal in life is to help create a movement that creates a world in which the people democratically Control the wealth we create w our labor.

this is going to be a hard road.

so, yeah, I have time2talk to those who disagree w me. it’s my reason for being.

revolutionaries must
That ”x marginalized group shouldn’t have to spend time explaining to y more privileged group” is a recent thing fervently pushed by academia& foundations that have now influenced the left

it pushes the idea that we dont need the whole working class2overthrow the ruling class
I’m like “Naw, you gone get this, because my liberation is materially tied to the overthrow of this system and the overthrow of this system is tied to us all getting this”

of course, discourse is Not the only way we’re gonna all get this. But it’s part of it.
Some of the reason that the statement in the second tweet of this thread has gotten popular is cuz of the decline of revolutionary Parties to put forward the radical vision of the process needed for material societal change.

so academia&foundations have had a LOTmore influence.
And leading from that is the idea is that we’re talking to folks because we’re trying to get them on board And involved- with a campaign, a project, an action- that has the goal of further getting them involved in radical movements

we’r not just arguing to show that we’re right.
This idea changes the tenor of the convos as well. Not to say that parties don’t get into sectarian bullshit. Of course they do. But with parties there is a mechanism for the critique of behaviors that aren’t productive.
The other part of this is that these discussions shouldn’t mainly be on social media. They should be IRL w your co-workers, your neighbors, your classmates, your family, strangers in your community whose doors you knock on, etc. this changes the purpose of the convo As well.
Part of the point of getting rid of this system is that capitalism commodifies natural functions

we must show that ppl r exploited in this system even w/o wages

But saying ”pay me 4 my emotional labor” further commodifies acts of love&revolution- &makes revolution seem optional
