Looking at Zekes targets on coaches tape... I’ll thread my thoughts here...
Target #1 1&10 11:44 1Q -42 yard line
The first play he’s credited for a target isnt a pass to him, it’s to CeeDee. Zeke is in the opposite side of the field after a PA boot...

Target #2 1&P 0:12 1Q -20
Daks shovel pass throw away that landed 10 feet short of Zeke

Stick concept, SEA brought a 5 man rush and got immediate pressure so Dak dumped it off to him. he caught it and made the LB miss but ole boy grabbed him by the helmet for a 4 yard loss with an uncalled penalty.

Target #4 1&10 11:45 2Q -45
Just a shoot route straight into the flat. Doesn’t look like anything special schematically to get him the ball, but Dak went to him immediately.
Got both hands on it but dropped it

Target #5 2&10 11:41 2Q -45
Daks in the gun, Zeke releases from his left to the right flat, there’s immediate pressure and Dak tried to dump it to 21.
Throw was low and behind him and hits him in the back hip Zekes trying to make a play, but drops it bc he didn’t look it in

first screen of the game. Screen is set up pretty well going to the left, Zeke turns his head to run before he secures the ball and drops it. Would have been 1 on 1 with a S in the open field.

Target #7 1&10 15:00 4Q -43
PA screen to the left and it was set up BEAUTIFULLY he had 5 blockers out there and a lane to run for atleast 15-20 yards.
SEA was blitzing & got early BS pressure & Dak had to dbl clutch & throw was high & wide

Another screen, this time Biadasz looks a tick slow coming off his block to release in front of Zeke and the timing gets messed up, Zeke winds up out in front of his blockers, caught for -1.

Target #9 1&10 5:04 4Q +32
This time Zeke is running the flat route in a slant/flat combo, he’s open early and settles, makes a nice catch low on his back hip and gets up field for 6 yds.

1st play of 2-min drill DAL runs 4 verts, Zeke settles under neath. SEA is in Cover 2, all LBs drop to atleast 10 yards deep, Zeke makes the catch runs through a tackle for a 10 yard gain.

Very next play, DAL runs 3 vertical routes this time, Zeke releases into the flats, all SEA defenders drop atleast 10 yards, Dak dumps to Zeke who gets 6 yards and gets OOB.

Last screen, the DT sees Zeke trying to release, and lunges at him, hits him in the waste and slows him down, which messes with the timing. Dak has to dbl clutch, 73 gets down field early and the LB is able to meet Zeke at the spot bc of the delay.

That’s all 12... in total it looks like they schemed a total of 4 sure designed targets for him, with maybe a 5th.
His drops came when he was running away from the QB while attempting to turn and get upfield. Something to keep an eye on.

I can understand why they kept going back to the screen game, bc they were super close to a big gain each time but one factor would go out of whack.
This is why citing EPA of passing targets to RBs is tough for me, bc atleast 2-3 of these targets it was either throw to Zeke or take a sack, so the marginal EPA of a completion for short yardage or even an incompletion vs a sack is significant.
