Speaking of Austerity, here is Fela in 1986’s Teacher Don’t Teach Me Nonsense.
Still on this Austerity matter, here is Professor Ola-Olu’s “Austerity” (1978)
and STILL, on the Austerity Measure fiasco, here is Cheif Ebenezer Obey in his 1982 title-track.
“Hunger dey o!” - Chief Sally Young yells on this Austerity measure issue, AGAIN! This time in 1983’s “Austerity Djue” in his Highlife Revival album.
Perhaps frustrated the most with it all, Victor Uwaifo personified Austerity and began hunting the poor bastard in his 1989 album ‘Love for Love (Onye Oma).’
This was not the first time Uwaifo had tackled Austerity. He did so as well in his 1962 release with his band, Pick-Ups.
There is no money for either young or old. Prices of Garri and fuel have skyrocketed- Fuji maestro, Chief Kollington Ayinla, asserts in Yoruba, in his 1982 title-track.
Ayinla also recalls another failed Government innovation: Olusegun Obasanjo’s Operation Feed the Nation.
