So, a few times this year, and in my analysis in Monday's paper. I made the point that in the context of the #SFGiants rebuild, 2020 was a big positive because the club was able to "try out" a large number of inexperienced pitchers and found some good arms moving forward ...
I'm going to throw some stats at you. I'm not going to cherry-pick. Some are good, and some are bad, but overall I think they support my thesis. This is not about bullpen success over the final few games, which was costly. The context is finding talent for the future after ...
... all the seasoned relievers were traded away last year. Let's start here. Bullpen ERA by month (and remember, July was just eight games). Number in parentheses is NL rank:

July: 4.68 (6)
Aug: 4.94 (10)
Sept: 3.27 (3)

This reflects inexperienced guys gaining games ...
... under their belt and, Kapler/staff getting a better understanding of where guys fit and less work overall because the rotation threw more inning.

Here's one good stat and bad stat for the season:

Inherited runners scored: 27% (T-3)
Save percentage 54% (T-12)

Remember..
... blow saves are not just the ninth inning, but anytime a guy comes in with a lead from the sixth inning on. We all know #SFGiants had big issues with Gott over a four-game stretch and Coonrod over the weekend. That's 5 of their 11 blown saves right there. Again, the wisdom...
.... of going back to Gott and Coonrod is another conversation for now. I'll finish by showing two ERAs for each of the nine top-used relievers. First is overall, second is September. You can see who got better and who didn't, which I'm sure will be taken into account when ...
... the front office assesses these guys:
OVERALL, SEPT

Rogers 4.50, 2.79
Peralta 3.29, 0.71
Selman 3.72, 6.14
Baragar 4.03, 0.00
Watson 2.50, 5.14*
J Garcia 0.49, 0.96
S. Anderson 3.52, 0.00
Coonrod 9.52, 15.95
Gott 10.03, 4.50

*Had 0.53 ERA before final two games ...
.... It's fairly certain that Rogers, Selman, Baragar, Anderson and Coonrod will be back, competing for jobs in spring with other org pitchers and newcomers. I believe Peralta and Garcia are both arb-eligible, so you never know whether they'll be tendered. They could be ...
.... nontendered then re-signed. Lastly, I don't know that the #SFGiants feel ready to spend on experienced relief. That will depend on whether they view 2021 as a realistic contention year.
