/4 It’s #worldheartday. In England we have huge ambitions to prevent CVD and tackle health inequalities. To know more about our ambitions please click on the link below. Managing blood pressure, cholesterol and AF are our priorities. https://twitter.com/nhsengland/status/1310977690556674049
/5 To deliver this ambitious programme we need CVD prevention leaders at every level in the system; PCN, local authority, ICS, region and national. We are lucky to already have so many great leaders in these settings. But to achieve our ambitions, it needs to be universal
/5 In each setting we need a multidisciplinary CVD prevention leadership team with GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, public health consultants, managers, information analysts, hospital clinicians, the voluntary sector #ZeroCVD
/5 And covid has reminded us of the importance of local community leaders and socialmarketing. Without the support of local public health consultants we won’t maximise the potential of clinical interventions.I know from personal experience the difference elected members can make
/5 We need to humble enough to learn from others. From rich and LMICs , eastern and western countries. #ZeroCVD #worldheartday One of the reasons I follow @ResolveTSL @DrTomFrieden @CDCHeart_Stroke @MillionHeartsUS
And let’s never forget, arguably the best way to save BAME lives is to prevent cardiovascular disease. #worldheartday #Zerocvd
