Does this paper exist? People claim female politicians are more likely to support policies that benefit women. Use the same close election design as Lee, Moretti and Butler with congressional races matched to a “women’s policies” report card, and use RDD for close female wins. 1n
I think Lee, Moretti and Butler show convincing evidence that in close elections, politicians pick their favored policies (dems behave liberal even in close elections). But now I want to see gender bc this is sometimes used for identification in dosage designs (Iyer et al) 2/n
You’d need a large number of races given lower representation of female politicians which is why I thought of the congressional races. 3/n
