farmer suicide is a complicated topic and it's something which has been an ongoing challenge for years.
it is something that goes beyond healthcare, requiring economic and social reforms to address core challenges.

when we talk about suicide there are many narratives we need to challenges. we are often socialised into talking about suicide in certain ways.

recently, farmers have been striking en masse in punjab and other states in reaction to ongoing maltreatment at the hands of the central government.

targeting farmers in states like punjab exist in a history of exploitation and suppression, largely trying to quell sikh sovereignty.

financial precariousness, lack of social supports, debt, pesticides, neoliberalism, hindutva, subordination + exploitation are all important aspects of the farmer suicide discussion which is the tip of the iceberg of a complex topic.
