Normalize telling your company “I’m not building that”

I did it my third week at Discord over a privacy concern and they just went “Yeah okay, we can go without it” and that was the end of it

To all the people pointing out that it is a privilege to be able to do this... yes i know

And yet its always either women, gays, Black people, disabled people, etc that *have* to speak up

A lot of yall aren't exercising your privilege to make things better and it shows

Just add some detail to the request at Discord, it was not some horrible user invading request...

In short, the request would have led to mishandled (according to EU regulation) potential PII (Personally Identifying Information) for a survey on an experiment
