I am begging y’all to stop shitting on films made for teen girls.

THE CRAFT sequel doesn’t appeal to you? Good. It means we’re moving the needle forward and finally giving today’s teens something to identify with.
Stop asking teens to mine for representation in films made in decades they weren’t alive to see.
Did y’all not read @gorycoryhorror’s piece for @Shudder’s THE BITE on how horror movies aren’t gaining new fans because they can’t relate to horror films being made today? Sometimes movies (even remakes of “classics”) AREN’T FOR US!!
I genuinely do not give a single fuck whether or not I like THE CRAFT: LEGACY, because ultimately, I’m 30-years-old. THIS MOVIE WASN’T MADE WITH ME IN MIND.

I care if 15-year-olds are as inspired by this as THE CRAFT (1996) was for me...and I only barely made the cut on that.
Anyway, as always, a reminder that my trans wife and I have a podcast where we analyze “teen girl” movies and the longevity of its messaging. You can hear us at @ThisEndsAtProm. This week we’re covering JENNIFER’S BODY.

HAVE A GOOD DAY, BYE.
LAST THING:

Please don't make me point out the hypocrisy of making fun of the men who cried "ruining my childhood" over the GHOSTBUSTERS remake but demanding validity about how "THE CRAFT: LEGACY looks nothing like THE CRAFT I grew up with."

Please, for the love of Nancy.
