been reading more books on management & leadership lately, but i detest the way so many of them are framed-- as missives from the top level of execs about "what worked," often focused purely on the bottom line and not on whether their employees were actually happy or fulfilled.
as an example, one (from an exec at netflix) describes how flattening the org increased output. great, but were people happy?

creativity, inc. has a similar problem. "this is how we make great art; a small inner circle makes all decisions." do your workers... like... that?
if anyone has recommendations for books that focus on leadership styles that make employees happier & workplaces more equitable, i'd love to hear them. i really enjoyed Radical Candor for this reason.
