This season so far (end of GW3), we already see a 2.7x increase in PA/GW, with an astounding 6.67 pens awarded every week.

While not all pens may have been awarded due to the new rules, we see that since the change, the number of pens has almost tripled.

The past 10 seasons saw an average of 93 pens per season. This season, we have 20 PA at the end of GW3.

Assuming that the rate of PA stays roughly the same for the rest of the season, we are on track to see 250+ penalties in the 20/21 @premierleague

Over the past 10 seasons, penalties would account for an average of just 6.86% of the total number of goals scored. That's 1 out of 14.5 goals being a penalty.

This season, for every 5.8 goals scored, we can expect 1 of it to be a penalty. That's 17.5%!

How would knowing all of this affect your #FPL decision-making for your team?

More importantly, how would the increase in frequency of penalties awarded in the @PremierLeague affect the players and managers of Clubs (especially for forwards and defenders)?
