I want you to ask the Writers Assistant in your rooms what they make and then look at the amount of work they do for the show and tell me if that pay is fair. So many people are so far removed from the everyday lives of their support staff.
I just think it’s interesting people are fighting for diversity and inclusion with the big bosses but then they ignore the people who sit five feet away from them. The people who they’re staring at everyday on a Zoom. I wish high level writers cared about the bottom line people.
I want Executives, Agents, Managers, Producers, Directors & Actors to do the same. How are you fighting for chanfe when your assistants can't pay rent? Or the PA is relying on snacks and food on set to survive? Or showrunner assistants can't rub two pennies together?
You say you're championing change, how about you just pivot to the right of you and check in on that assistant. I'm tired of ya'll coming on here acting one way but then don't even attempt to help the people before you.
Assistants are college educated people in this town with years of experience who are currently fighting with studios for box rentals or $3 more on their already low minimum wage salaries. Did you know that?
