The 2nd amendment is there to kill cops. That's its purpose. That's what "using guns to stop tyranny" means: killing cops.

The easiest way for a tyrant to prevent those guns from being used on him, is not to take them away, but make his supporters unwilling to kill cops.

His supporters could have all the guns they want, as long as they are incapable of using them against the state.

The easiest, most effective way of removing the threat the 2nd amendment poses, is by subverting its purpose.

Not a single gun needs to be taken away if you can convince gun owners that they're not supposed to use them against you.

The GOP has spent *decades* working to make a circle out of the venn diagram of 2nd amendment enthusiasts and people who scream blue lives matter.

Those heavily armed mobs of nazis and proud boys pal around with cops because they are not, whatsoever, capable of threatening the state. They enforce its policies by proxy.

Their guns are rendered harmless to the state, no matter how expensive.

When the Black Panthers showed up armed, though? When people who hadn't been rendered harmless to the state used the 2nd amendment?

Instant gun control.

The GOP is *fine* with mass shootings, school shootings, domestic violence, etc as long as the state isn't threatened.

They explicitly and openly say stuff like school shootings are a price to pay for the 2nd amendment.

Basically: the GOP makes such a big deal out of the 2nd amendment because its goal is not more guns, but guns which will not be used against the state.
