Two things can be correct at the same time:

*Trump and the WH are odious, dishonest and pushing an agenda

*Children are at virtually zero risk of serious illness from C19, and school closures cause numerous harms, especially to underprivileged kids
How is this problematic, if the purpose is to explain risks to children? (The CDC itself has a 0-17 category for disease data.) [*Note: I am not excusing Trump's bad motives]
Weighing the mental health costs of long term school closures seems wise, no?

Numerous surveys have shown increases in depression and anxiety of kids during remote learning, so it's not like this is an artificial concern [*Note: I am not excusing Trump's bad motives]
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Academies of Sciences both have stated that getting kids physically in school is a priority. [Note: Trump is despicable. But his schools position largely matches some of our most respected health organizations]
Ahh! Just now seeing @zeynep's excellent thread which is worded better than mine and mirrors much of what I'm saying https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/1310946632901578753?s=20
