#BobcatAMT What is consent? Consent is agreeing and giving permission to do something. Consent can be changed, taken away / reversed, and altered at any time. Consent must be ongoing. At OHIO, we like to use the FACE model for consent: (1/5)
F – FULLY CONSCIOUS – this means everyone is awake and sober enough to make decisions for themselves. (2/5)
A – ACTING FREELY – there is no outside forces making you say “yes” - for example: quid pro quo (If you do this, I’ll give you an A), black mail (I’ll tell your friends...), drugs, or alcohol. (3/5)
C – CLEAR INTENT – everyone knows exactly and specifically what they’re consenting to. For example, think about how the meaning of “hooking up” is much different between high school and college kids. (4/5)
E – ENTHUSIASM! - everyone is excited and wants to participate. Giving consent and acting sexually should not feel like a task, it should be fun! (5/5)
