On this day in 1998, "Hip-Hop's Greatest Day"

(thread)
The late '90s showed a large shift in the hip-hop industry. Many current legends, (Eazy E, Pac, Biggie) were being taken from us, but records were still flying off the shelves from newer, up and coming artists.
XXL magazine brought current and past rap legends at the time together for a "day of unity" in Harlem. Over 200 people were brought together, and this was said to play a huge part in ending the east/west coast beef, and gaining closure on the deaths resulting from it.
This was done 40 years prior to the 1998 day by a collection of Jazz artists and inspired the notion by XXL to bring all of these people together.
Along with that, 4 game-changing albums dropped that day. Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life," OutKast's "Aquemini," A Tribe Called Quest's "The Love Movement," and Black Star's self-titled debut.
Considering the famous get-together and the crazy album releases all on the same day, it is not a far stretch to say this is the greatest day in hip hop history.
