for NY: the election expert in my house says that if you are able to, you should vote EARLY rather than absentee

if you vote in person, your vote is counted by a computer on election day. if you vote absentee, you vote will be counted possibly weeks after the election, by people
the New York State absentee system was not designed for wide use. it’s a very slow and arduous process that requires multiple people to physically open and examine each envelope (again, days or weeks after the election). it will be even slower if many people use it
if you feel comfortable enough to go to a grocery store, you should strongly consider voting early rather than absentee so that your vote is counted on Election Day. @AOC said that’s how she’s planning on voting as well!
early voting is new for our state so not everyone knows about it, but it will likely be very empty when you go.

we also saw what a mess mail ballots were w the the primaries, and the stuff now about the wrong addresses😰

i’m voting early this year and maybe you should too ✨
important!! I think I’m early voting at the Brooklyn Museum this year which is 😎 https://twitter.com/xuhulk/status/1310940200818925568
if you have an absentee ballot, you CAN drop it off at any poll site in the city. however it’s not clear right now if it will be counted on Election Day, so if you’re going there anyway you may just want to vote early (but this is an option) https://twitter.com/itsnatebennett/status/1310941433009000454
