Also bc a certain post keeps being made every couple of months: if a minor doesn’t wanna interact with you, or feels uncomfortable around you bc you’re 25+, they’re not being ageist. They’re being cautious.

“But they tell me to get out of my fandom and pay taxes or whatever ” okay? Do they actually have any control over that or are you pretending that random 15 year olds are actually a threat to you? Also, they’ll grow out of it. We all did.

In the age of the internet and ppl being more and more knowledgeable about grooming, how are y’all still surprised when kids don’t feel comfortable with adults being in fandom spaces?

I’m an adult and I have never come across a minor who was mad at me or uncomfortable for the things I’ve drawn or contributed to in a fandom. If you experience this regularly, you gotta reevaluate what you create and why it bothers minors specifically

Also this whole “we MADE what you like!! This wouldn’t exist without us!!” Like what is this weird feeling of ownership over fandom spaces,, just bc you made fanart and fics for like a decade doesn’t make your work any more valuable than someone who started a couple months ago?

And some ppl argue “WELL kids come into ADULT fandom spaces!!” Block them. Kids are dumb and will go into spaces they’re not supposed to and if they don’t respect those boundaries, you have to make an effort as an /adult/ to enforce those boundaries.

Also if you create ADULT content for media marketed for MINORS, why are you surprised when they (minors) come out the woodwork to criticize you? Like...?
