I'm goddamn fucking sick of people presenting the same goddamn arguments all the time about Jeff Bezos not being able to end world hunger so I'm creating this thread and bookmarking it to send to people in the future.

1) "HIS MONEY IS IN STOCKS"

I'M WELL AWARE. I'VE NOT BEEN WORKING ON THE ASSUMPTION HE'S GOT SCROOGE MCDUCK MONEY POOLS LYING AROUND.

HE CAN SELL HIS GODDAMN STOCKS AND LIQUIDATE HIS ASSETS.

2) "If he sells his stocks, they'll just drop in value and then the total liquid cash he gets will be less"

Not if he staggers his sell offs like he's *already doing* when he wants a few billion to make dick rockets for his space company. Sell, wait for value to reclimb, sell.

Are you starving? No? Then you have just debunked your own goddamn argument. Not everyone is starving so not everyone needs help.

No one's said he's got the legal obligation to do it. But damn if you don't think you've got the duty to help desperate people in need, especially when it'll make no material difference to you - you're just a selfish bastard. Plain and simple.

6) "The US Government is more than capable of ending it"

Yes So are you gonna vote for socialists into your Government that would spend that capital to do that?

Also let's not forget that the capital controlling the US have a vested interest in a global starving underclass.
