how to make your account more accessible to your dyslexic mutuals: a short thread
1: space your pronouns out !!

✅ they/xe/he
✅ they / xe / he
✅ they ! xe ! he
✅ THEY / XE / HE etc.

🚫 THEY%XE%HE
🚫 THEY!XE!HE
🚫 they#xe#he etc.

this is because, for us, letters bunched up become muddled and confused, making it hard to see your pronouns
2: fonts, dont use em

you shouldnt be using them anyway to include those who use screen readers ! but, if you needed another reason not to use them, a lot of fonts (particularly cursive ones) are a lot harder for some of us to read
3: Y0U 7Y93 L1K3 TH15? well, if someone asks you not to, dont

its hard enough for us to read letters alone, dont throw numbers in there and make it harder
4: double spacing

this isnt a necessity and i dont even do it myself bc personally it doesnt do much for me, but it can sometimes help to double space your posts, e.g.:

subscribe to crankgameplays on youtube
5: contrasting

another non-necessity but can be helpful; a lot of dyslexic people struggle to read black-on-white. for me i get a huge headache doing that and black-on-blue or green is much easier. if a dyslexic friend asks you to do tint the bg of a ss, do it!
6: this ones pretty important, patience.
dont get mad if we cant read or misinterpret something youve typed if it has typos, fonts, numbers, etc. just tell us what it actually says, correct it if you can, and move on
some videos for you to watch to try and understand, cw eyestrain and flashing probably

according to dyslexia action (2017), 16% of the world has some level of dyslexia. dyslexia international (also 2017) has a similar stat, estimating 5-10% of the world. thats around 700 million people, more than double the entire US population. learning disabilities are not rare
adding to this:

PLEASE be patient with us when were adapting to your neopronouns. its incredibly difficult to learn new word rules. i will absolutely always try my best, but please try to not be mad if i mess up or have to resort to a set of he/she/they if ur okay w those
i didnt know this but these things can also help ur hard of sight followers not just ur dyslexic followers !! https://twitter.com/vampireguks/status/1310937891586166784?s=19
