As a teen I desperately wanted to build an global career. The way people at every stage tried to stop that was so wild.

I remember taking interests in lots of things and it being taken as an affront by most of the teachers I had.
It didn& #39;t compute with the image they set for Black boys. I had to battle every step of the way.
By the time I got to my A Levels, I was exhausted mentally.

I was always having to fight to be seen. Fighting for support which others were given freely. Fighting to be taken seriously. Fighting to basically exist. All before I was 18.
I had the grades but Oxbridge wasn& #39;t for "me". Law was "hmm". Languages? No career in it at all.

The way so many young Black people are intentionally misguided is disgraceful.
I& #39;ll be working hard with @BMLnetwork to change that at least for law and I know others like @ACIN_LDN, @BBN_Tweets, @Urban_Lawyers & @WCANetwork are doing that work in other ways too.
