I tend to up-play Saints martyred by the Nazis. In my darker moments, the class-action canonization of the martyrs of the Spanish Civil War bothers me since politically I lean left, and I see it as a tacit endorsement of Fascism, (The Falange killed clerics and laity as well...)

However, I also love how simply ordinary the Martyrs of the Spanish Civil war are. Many of the martyred clerics or consecrated were not "typically" heroic.

Many are simply married laity who expressed their faith in the parish and its auxiliary organizations.
