It's the start of a new and slightly unusual term here in Newcastle but don't worry, whether you are on campus or not, you can still access the library!
If you're not sure what services are available, take a look at http://ncl.ac.uk/library  or get the highlights in this thread...
Firstly if you have any queries about library services or your library account, you can contact library staff 24/7 via #LibraryHelp https://libhelp.ncl.ac.uk/
If you'd like to borrow items from any of the libraries, you can do so using our Click + Collect Service. You can request books from the shelves from the Philip Robinson Library, @ncllibmed and @nclliblaw *and* some print material via Inter Library Loans http://ow.ly/B5Qp50BD0A7
Once you book your collection slot, you collect items from the Philip Robinson Library. Use the central door and please follow the social distancing measures and wear a mask whilst moving through the building đź‘Ť
If you're in Newcastle and want to return items, you can do so at the Philip Robinson Library. Between 8.30am-10pm, use the left hand door to enter the library and return your books using the returns machine...
Outside of these times, please use the Book Return Slot at the entrance to the Philip Robinson Library. Books will be returned from your account after a 72hr quarantine
It is possible to use study spaces at the library however you *must* book a study space before you arrive at the library. Go to https://ncl.ac.uk/library/  and select where you want to study...
You can book study rooms, desks with PCs, individual desks and booths from 15 minutes up to 3 hours per day. When you arrive at your study space, please use the QR code or URL to check-in
Again, please follow the social distancing measures in place and unless you are exempt, please wear a mask when moving around the library buildings
If you are looking for items, log in to Library Search *before* you begin your search for quick and simple access to all of our resources. http://libsearch.ncl.ac.uk
however you can already find the essential reading materials for your semester 1 modules on your Reading List. It's linked in your Canvas courses and the MLE.
It is also worth checking out your Subject Guide for finding e-books, journals and databases for your area of study. You'll find it in the Resources & Study Support section of our new website: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/library/resources-and-study-support/
The ASK website has a range of online resources to help you with your academic and study skills, covering topics such as academic integrity and referencing, exams and revisions as well as learning online. https://bit.ly/2YzdqIp
Staff & students @UniofNewcastle and NHS members of the library are able to use the @ncllibspeccoll Reading Room 10-12.00 & 13.00-15.00, Tues-Thurs. For info on requesting and what to do before & when you arrive, take a look here: http://ow.ly/Kjjv50BBdj1
