it is racism, it is colourism, it is featurism, it is tribalism. you don’t have a problem with batswana because they look like you and speak like you. but those from the north who are you but can be perceived as zimbabwean are a problem.

you understand that home affairs is a nightmare but every immigrant must trust the system. you understand asylum during apartheid but not during other country’s crises.

you don’t like it when african artists succeed in SA but you crave international recognition. you assume every well-treated girlfriend has been lost to a foreigner and that makes you angry.

you froth at the mouth when a white person cannot say your name yet you laugh at mine.

i just want you to examine your hearts and understand that hating me will not make your life better. i am not the one withholding your opportunities. i am not the one oppressing you. i am not the one.
