and then he sees this big ass mansion with the words “yoo family” or smth engraved on a crest and kdj goes haha this reminds me of the novel i read the design is exactly the same!!! Then he turns around and sees the most handsome man by the gate carrying a bag of trash and he

sees the small scar on his eyes and kdj fucking FLIPS bc that’s exactly how the novel described yoo joonghyuk and that’s when kdj realized he’s somehow inside his fave novel and while he’s internally panicking yjh goes “who are you?” in that deep sensual(?) voice and kdj SWOONS

but also fuck this is the protagonist??? rightful heir of the family bullied to be a maid??? kdj could NOT accept this and lowkey vows to himself “ill get you out of there” before turning to run away and formulate a plan but yjh hears all of this so he’s now crazy guy to yjh

so kdj goes back to his cottage and he realizes the stick he had was actually a wand and it all clicks that he’s the fairy godmother. He also finds out that he has this mirror thing idk that observed yjh ever since and so kdj decides to follow the plot but also ! interfere too

so he sometimes visits the mansion and makes things a little easier for him like magically cleaning the floors so yjh doesnt have to mop them or keeping yjh safe whenever his step-siblings play tricks on him and ofc yjh notices all of this and at one point sees kdj hiding too

he almost called him out but kdj disappears like magic and yjh had a thought what if this crazy bastard was his fairy godmother? the thought irks him and so he tries to test it out by goading his step siblings to trick him & see if kdj will stop them and kdj does (several times)

so now yjh feels slightly at ease whenever kdj comes and he can’t describe the feeling well but he’s glad he has someone around who wont bully him like his fake family SO when the night of the ball comes, kdj is all decked up ready to surprise yjh

then he hears, "you'll meet the love of your life if you go," and "you'll be king and have anything you want." and then yjh sharply turns to look at kdj. Kdj jolts at the sudden attention but grins because finally, the protagonist caught the bait.

kdj makes him leave with the whole pumpkin carriage set up (to yjh's dismay and utter shock/embarrassment) and once it leaves kdj's sight, he quickly uses his mirror to check out the events in the ball like it's some sort of livestream because no way he'll miss their first mtg

yjh arrives looking cold and aloof and successfully attracts the attention of almost everyone. his step family sees him and tries to embarrass him/make him leave but ultimately fails. they curse at him which catches the attention of lsh and her guards and kdj thinks: here it is

kdj's practically beaming as he watches yjh talk with lsh and even tho there's no audio kdj KNOWS yjh is upping the game by flirting with lsh but in reality

thankfully, it DOES happen but he could see the annoyed look on yjh's face. he can't refuse thought bc it 's the king who suggested it. yjh isn't blind he knows it's a set up but he agrees and so lsh and yjh waltzes across the floor. kdj smiles but feels a pang in his chest.

he catches yjh chatting with some palace officials and blends in with the crowd until he's right beside him. yjh looks at him in surprise while kdj only laughs and charms the officials. in the midst of their talks, kdj whispers to yjh "we have to go" while smiling. yjh nods.

"oh but did you get the princess' contact information?" since there's no more "shoe" scene, he has to make sure his ship will survive.

yjh furrows his brows. "I can simply send a letter and she'll respond."

kdj blinks. "oh." how practical.

kdj brings him out of the palace and sees the pumpkin carriage. yjh thinks they'll ride it but kdj pulls him towards another area where other the other coaches stay. he casts a spell on yjh's step family's to make him fall asleep and removes the reins on one of the horses

"what are you doing?" kdj looks at yjh and sees the man looking at their hands and kdj goes wide-eyed because wasn't i holding his sleeve?? he quickly lets go and forces out a laugh before saying

"we need a ride."

"but we have one already."

"it'll disappear on midnight."

yjh's eye twitches. "the spell?"

kdj grins. "not permanent so your clothes," he gestures to the suit and shrugs. "it'll be gone."

yjh stiffens & there's a furious look on his face. kdj wonders why he's so mad when he realizes how his words sound.

anyway kdj successfully brings yjh back to the mansion while getting back at yjh's step family by stealing their horse. kdj tells yjh that after this night, he promises that things would be different and seeing kdj's crystal clear eyes yjh believes him.

"the clothes," yjh says and touches the soft fabric. "everything will disappear?"

"you'll end up wearing your previous clothes, promise." kdj hastily explains bc he was so sure the man almost choked him to death when he said it. yjh hums then looks at him, a twinkle in his eye.

"Leave something for me."

kdj balks. "huh??" what does the bastard want this time? he already did his job of introducing yjh's lover and also getting a ticket to the throne so what else? kdj racks his brains and realizes, right the shoe. he shrugs and accepts.

"Fine."

Kdj snaps his fingers and yjh doesn't know what the guy did because he still has the suit on. Kdj urges him to go back inside the mansion before his step family sees him. They stand in front of the gate and yjh clenches his jaw before asking a question.
