Scenes from Spanish Arch last night are very worrying. But can we stop blaming the young people. Let's remember they have been locked up, no schools, colleges, cinemas, bowling alleys, beer gardens, coffee shops, leaving cert, junior cert, Graduations, Debs, Sport & so on...
They're outside where they think it's ok. Clearly this isn't ok. Clearly it's worrying. But giving out isn't helpful. We need to be able to communicate to this age group. Whether that's using influencers like discussed by @SweetLikeAli or sports stars, Magazines, Radio, Artists
Tik Tok, etc... We can't expect them to act accordingly when the information being sent out is all over the shop and for weeks all they hear is "Galway is getting locked down" "Cork is shutting down" sound bites by old lads they don't care about on a station they do not watch.
We are as we have been since Martin took over, failing to communicate and not just to younger audiences but to adults as well. So many advisors on board being paid substantial amount for their services yet they're loosing the audience rapidly.
Perhaps an awareness concert using some of Ireland's talented artist playing songs and being interviewed by other artists could not only give money back to the arts and employ stage designers etc but would also engage with an audience who are not engaged. Broadcasted on YouTube?
