imagine being raised in a household so nurturing, so caring that you turn out having to learn all the things you want to and having all the dreams you can choose from because your parents think it's ok to be whatever you want to be. but ngl, that's also privilege.

imagine growing up learning that you should always say what you want to say as long as you mean it. imagine growing up being taught that it's ok and it's right to express yourself. then everything would have been so much easier for everyone.

it amuses me how generous youngk is with big reactions, compliments, etc and how he says it's normal for him because that's what his parents taught him. should be a normal thing, but we all laud it because that's not how it is for most of us.
