I didn& #39;t fully realize until they arrived that...(1/?)
...they were all professionally taken, developed, and printed by the seller, and were all mostly of @R_Roddy_Piper in both Mid-Atlantic and Georgia Championship Wrestling, up to 1982, right before he turned face while defending Gordon Solie from Don Muraco. (2/?)
The feuds & timeframe these photos cover are legendary: Wahoo McDaniel, Blackjack Mulligan, his US Title run going up against Ric Flair, even his team w/ Greg Valentine that would eventually go south, leading to their epic Dog Collar Match, one of my all-time favorites. (3/?)
Another treat that revealed itself once I dug deeper was that while half of them were taken at house shows throughout VA and the Carolinas, the other half were from the WTBS studios during live tapings of Georgia Championship Wrestling in its prime. (4/?)
Add onto that they& #39;re all 8x10& #39;s and were made on heavy stock, and they have held up beautifully for a long time. (5/?)
I hope you& #39;ve enjoyed checking these out as much as I& #39;ve enjoyed sharing them; I& #39;ll never forget how Roddy inspired me as a performer, and the pure kindness and warmth he showed to me as a human being.
