It cannot be overstated how much of shake in confidence this vendor error is.

But I’m gonna ask all New Yorkers to dig deep and do something hard: focus on the immediate solution.

The President will be using NYC as an example of voter fraud tonight or tomorrow. 1/7

And his comments will seed doubt in the legitimacy of the electoral process. But I urge you to fight the (correct) instinct to freak out and scream from the rooftops. I know, you are right. I know, there needs to be structural changes. I know, this is the worst time for this. 2/7

But there is only one thing standing between democracy as we know it and unprecedented chaos: you. It will be the power of each individual that will win back the republic. 3/7

And to be clear, we will hold the responsible parties accountable. If you know me, you know I do not shy away from important fights. And there are many to be had re voting and disenfranchisement, beyond today’s screw up. But in the immediate, you can: 4/7

We are still working on getting answers on what happened, why it happened, how to fix it, and how we to ensure it doesn’t occur again. We will keep you posted when we have real answers. As Chair of the Elections Committee in the Senate, I’ll continue to press for more 6/7
