1/n It’s that time of year again. We are lucky to have THREE effective (proven, many times) treatments for seasonal affective disorder. They are bright light treatment, Bupropion, and CBT-SAD. https://twitter.com/morganelisej/status/1310606022407532544
The gold standard treatment for SAD is light therapy, but not everyone uses it right. See a specialist to get it right or risk wasting $$. Light therapy glasses are pretty convenient. https://m.myluminette.com/en-us
CBT-SAD is just as effective for SAD as light therapy, and it even keeps working the next year, and the next. Therapists trained in CBT can employ the CBT-SAD manual. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0195341376/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_I-NCFb6P14267
Why consult a specialist for light therapy and/or CBT-SAD? Because getting better fast is the goal. CBT-SAD is a 12 week treatment designed to be individually tailored for you by highly trained clinicians. Do it with expert guidance :: get better and faster.
Taking Bupropion in autumn is FDA approved to prevent SAD, but it’s not for everyone. CBT-SAD isn’t for everyone. Light therapy isn’t for everyone. But that’s three possibilities to try for anyone who suspects they have SAD!
