1) he was born normal and wasnt cursed until a few days before his 19th birthday, as he was beginning his journey back to moominvalley in late January (he was starting off early bc he& #39;d travelled further south than he& #39;d ever gone before)
2) the person who cursed was an extremely powerful hemulen wizard, who& #39;s more or less the most powerful of their kind. there& #39;s other people out there with similar curses bc this wizard has followers, but none are quite as bad as his bc they& #39;re not as powerful
3) snufkin was planning on confessing to moomintroll that year (stating this now bc it& #39;s important to the next point. sorry if you uh. don& #39;t like snufmin I can& #39;t help myself)
4) snuf received this curse bc he was caught sleeping in the wizards cellar (to get out of the cold). this curse was chosen to make moomintroll repulsed and disgusted by snufkin, so he would reject him (the wizard didn& #39;t want him dead, just to make him as miserable as possible)
(p.s. the wizard didn& #39;t know it was moomintroll specifically, they could just sense snufkin was feeling very strong romantic feelings for someone) (p.p.s the wizard uses they/them bc hemulens in the books usually have unclear genders)
5) snufkin didn& #39;t return to moominvalley until August a whole year and a half later
6) the first person to find out about what happened was moominmamma. he never actually planned on going back to the valley, but he only went back to tell mamma bc he felt if anyone deserved to know what happened to him, it was her bc she was always so kind to him
7) mamma did eventually convince him to stay in the valley, mostly bc moomintroll& #39;s birthday was soon and she hoped seeing snufkin again would make him feel better
8) snufkin hibernated in the moominhouse that winter, but he did not confess to moomintroll for another 4 years
9) the only person allowed to make fun of him for it is little my. that& #39;s IT. NOT EVEN MOOMINTROLL. little my will kick the ass of anybody who even looks at him funny
