Fun fact: if "political issue" is optional for your straight White cis-male workers but a matter of life/death/safety for those who belong to marginalized groups, banning discussion & asking ppl to check it at the door before work inherently creates an unwelcoming environment

Imagine your company has an office in a state trying to pass a bathroom bill (which increase violence against trans & gender nonconforming folks). You say "not only are we doing nothing bc it's unrelated to crypto but ALSO you can't talk abt it with your coworkers who vote"

Imagine you've seen a million versions of "unarmed Black person gets shot by cops / vigilantes" while White supremacist murderers get taken in & given burgers. every time you're like "wow wonder if any1 I know is next!" & your company says "plz focus on making widgets or else!"

super easy to say "focus on making us $" & view everything unrelated as a "distraction" if the state has never put a target on your back & marked you as disposable / worthy of attack
