yesterday i found out there's a fourth sequel to a Flash game i played in 2009, it's released in 2020 and still uses Flash. i'll play it even if i have to build my own Chromium binary for that
besides Flash having unparalleled authoring tools, Alchemy did the same thing WebAssembly did, except they did it in 2008, before WebAssembly, before asm.js, even two years before the first Emscripten commit
the history of modern web technologies is the history of browsers trying and often to this day failing to catch up with Flash. so far ahead of its time we'll probably still be trying to catch up with it in 2050
