Over the year and a half that I’ve played MTG, the community has always found some deck or format or card to complain about. This is nothing new.

What does seem new is the content creator burnout. So many streamers seem to be looking for alternatives to MTG or new ways to -
-keep the game exciting as they stream it. But as a creator, particularly if you’re competitive, it gets tiresome to either play the same archetypes over and over or lose repeatedly because you’re not playing those archetypes. But it’s not just the creators that are leaving -
- it’s also the viewers. Despite likely having extra view time due to covid, there is a significant downward trend in viewership of the game over the last 180 days - with the spikes being when new cards are released. Look how quickly viewership drops after just a few days of a -
- new meta. clearly there is a problem when both creators and viewers are finding other outs. Idk if the solution is more bans or for better play testing or what. But something needs to be fixed for the sake of the game at large, and soon.
