Liverpool-Arsenal HT Thoughts:
Liverpool don& #39;t actually apply any intricate patterns of play, it& #39;s a very organic setup, play to your strength but there& #39;s also clear guidelines positionally & transitionally, no wonder they& #39;ve not burnt out mentally like City. Robotic circuit football is not healthy.
This team has played on a comparable level for almost 4 years, City look like they& #39;ve never been coached by Pep. Without patterns Liverpool rely a lot on opponents weakness; concentration lapse etc, they& #39;re just a really patient side but very ruthless when they find said openings
Playing *simple passes into feet of teammates in tight spaces requires hideous amounts of confidence & self belief(call it haki), this mental strength is something Frank is trying to bring here the way they absolutely run into you is scary, be direct, don& #39;t be too elaborate(CHO)
Obviously if the opponent doesn& #39;t make mistakes or if the opponent is superior in possession then Liverpool withdraw & start spamming balls.

By transitionally I was talking about how they react when they lose the ball or in some cases they purposely give you the ball & press.
Example: they& #39;re not trying to press Luiz(he& #39;s good) but the moment he passes to Holding they& #39;re running into him & when a defender(Van Djik) plays a long pass it& #39;s into the wings. It& #39;s a win-win if Arsenal win 1st ball they press aggressively & hope to win the ball higher up.
All in all Liverpool don& #39;t look pretty & people will cry about the long balls but that is the closest thing to & #39;sustainable football& #39;. Just let footballers play their football, don& #39;t be rigid & don& #39;t be weird like Mourinho. Player development is also key, case in point Henderson.
