Three spam calls at our house today, then a fourth is left to go to voicemail that turns out to be from a contact tracer.

Hope they get that call display sorted soon. Also, is it not weird they don't leave a callback number?
"It's very important you answer when we call again." Yeah, no kidding since you only call twice apparently.
Living the news is weird.
If reporters worked the way contract tracers do, there would be approximately two interviews in any given edition of the newspaper.
Update: Received an email naming our child as having a possible contact! But no information about who, when or where was contact.

Says to isolate for 14 days after contact with the sick person. We’ve had no contact with a sick person that we know of.
These are but a few of my questions! Hopefully they don’t call again when I’m driving through a tunnel. https://twitter.com/robynlisaflynn/status/1310681785253203968
All righty. Since I started telling you about our voyage through contact traceland, I thought I might as well continue.

Still no word from our tracer, who promised to call us back about 40 hours ago, but we’ve pieced the story together.
It turns out our son’s contact was with a child who contracted the virus from this outbreak at Radio-Canada.

I know what some of you are thinking: His mother works at CBC.

But surprise, that’s not it! She hasn’t been there in months. https://lp.ca/3TsOAa
Our son played in a park with the asymptomatic-but-soon-to-be-positive child of an infected person on this show.

I doubt my son caught it from outdoor play. But it was an extended period and I failed to police proximity. They might have shared a snack. I just don’t know.
So we wait, for results from a test yesterday, for a second test Saturday, and hopefully results soon afterward so he can get back to school.
This playtime was Sept. 20, which means my son was in school for six days before we learned of the covid connection. He went to swimming lessons. He had another outdoor play date. The discovery of the contact came 8 days into the 14- day isolation.
If you are anything like me, you may be gaining new insight into the daunting task of tracing and containment.
So now the boy is home until the rest of his 14 days are up and he has two negative tests. He’s fine, there are no symptoms in our family.

If all goes well he will have lost 9-10 school days so far due to sniffles three weeks ago, and this contact.
Well, let us continue the saga.
When we last met in this thread, we were waiting for a call from a contact tracer and test results.
Good news! The test results are negative.
It's even better news since the contact tracer has ghosted completely. Not a word.
So back to school with him Monday. . . maybe.
Because the story doesn't end here.
The good news came around noon. Then the bad news before my afternoon coffee got cold.

ANOTHER child's educatrice who, we learned, has been off sick all week has tested positive.

So tomorrow back to the testing centre we go. And another kid is home to fill the 14 days.
