First of all, Leach didn’t play football at BYU like it states. He didn’t play college football at all. He attended BYU and kept up with their team closely. Their passing game enamored him, and he used that as the foundation of the Air Raid when he and Mumme created it.

Secondly, to say that Leach hasn’t had success as a coach is the most asinine statement I’ve ever heard. The man was winning 8+ games a year in freaking Lubbock and Pullman! Look at those programs all time and compare how they did under Leach. He’s the outlier by far.

I get Ohio State fans are gonna have a different mindset on this, but at programs like TTU and WSU, you can’t define success as winning championships. Those programs are lucky to make bowl games. Leach did incredible things for those schools.

Then it talks about “is the SEC gonna become all about offense? LOL NO.”

Have you not been watching the SEC for the last decade?! It’s absolutely become about offense! Nearly every team is going to up-tempo spread throw it all around the field attacks.

And besides a couple of schools any given year, the defenses in the SEC aren’t at all like they once were. And let’s stop acting like Leach has never seen that. The Big 12 in the 2000s was pretty dang strong defensively and he did just fine. No one wants to remember that though.

And oh my god can we shut up with the “LSU lost so much so it’s not impressive” BS?! They’re still loaded with 5 stars at every freaking position! And y’all still expected them to kill us! But the second State wins, “oh well LSU just isn’t good.” My big fat butt!

Wanna talk about an off-season overall? How about Mike Leach taking a team that sucked ass offensively and lost several key defenders, installing a brand new scheme, developing a transfer QB, navigating COVID like everyone and going out and dropping 600 yards and 40 points?

I’m not gonna sit here and say Mike Leach is suddenly gonna have State winning championships. There’s still a long way to go. But it’s utterly ridiculous that we’re still putting out these bull crap “Leach won’t work in the SEC” takes. MORONS.
