I've been all the way through the @nytimes analysis
There is almost zero financial information. It's heavy on cherry-picking & opinion.
Why not publish the documents so We The People draw our own conclusions?
Why keep secret the years he DID pay taxes? https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/09/27/us/donald-trump-taxes.html

2. They state they went through 20+ years of returns for Trump & over 500 companies. Elsewhere they say "15 years" & "since 2000". They did NOT get last 3 years.
This is a complex situation even for trained IRS auditors with full datasets. Print journos with political agendas?

10. A basic concept in real estate is Negative Gearing. This is a way to structure corporate entities so that cash surplus is used to pay down loans, rather than reported as profit & then taxed.
This is not mentioned once in NYT coverage. Every property guy I know does it.

11. Great thread here. It appears the NYT headline writers didn't even bother to fact-check their headline against their own story, which clearly they did not read either.
