/We will see what Aaron Boone will do but in G1, I would start Gardner in LF over Frazier for no single reason, but a few: 1. He was hot late and Frazier was on the ground a lot, part of the #Yankees GIDP epidemic. 2. Progressive Field has a high LF fence and knowing how to play
/it -- when to go for a ball, when to wait for a ricochet -- is important. Frazier was better on D this yr than last yr, but can still be indecisive with the ball in the air or in his hands. 3/The best of the #Indians pitching is RH, including G1 SP Shane Bieber, against whom
/Gardner HRed the last time they faced in June, 2019. If Oliver Perez comes in in a big spot to face Gardner, Frazier is available for a PH and Tauchman can always defend late if necessary. 4. Gardner has loads of playoff experience, plus speed, plus D. Frazier earned his
/playing time this year and proved he deserves a shot at 500 PAs moving forward. But in a best-of-3 the margins are thin, the Yanks are overly RH and bad on defense. So I would go with Gardner. Heck, I would think about improving the D overall with Wade at 2b (also a LH bat)
/LeMahieu at 1b, Voit at DH and no Stanton. I cannot see Boone not playing a healthy Stanton. But the overall ABs and certainly the defense is better that way.
