As the vehicle in which I'm a passenger passes from one +/- zero case province to another +/- zero case province (we're all masked up inside the vehicle), I'm reading on Twitter how Ontario, Quebec, BC and Alberta are all experiencing Covid spikes.
And I'm thinking about how the governments we elect don't seem to matter much to the average folks on a day to day basis, but really show themselves during a genuine crisis.

I'm thinking about how @PierrePoilievre and @erinotoole told us outright what they'd have done.
They would have gone Trump's route. Give money to business. Force the economy to stay open. Press people back to work and into life threatening danger. They told us that. I'm not assuming. And I'm hard pressed to understand why anyone would vote for that, frankly.
We're going to have more and more crisises. Climate is going to do things to our world. Political unrest outside our borders is going to affect us. There will be more viruses.

Going back to failed economic and social theories shouldn't even be on the table.
We shouldn't be overly worried about the debt, tbh, by the time that puppy is mature our world will look *very* different.

I have a hard time with much on the left, tbh. I roll my eyes a lot. I can't decipher what they're saying half the time. I'm not woke enough.
But this is enough for me: the left wants us to find a compassionate and inclusive way forward. The right wants a return to hierarchial society, failed "baron" industries and Darwinism.

We might get there, where it's survival of the fittest, but we're not there yet.
And I think we can avoid getting there if we don't let fear rule us now. It takes a lot of courage to believe in a better future. It requires none to try to revert to a failed past because it worked for *you*.

I hope enough Canadians can be brave.
I'm turning off my notifications and closing apps now because I'm into roaming territory.

So that's it.

Let's be brave.
