I have tweeted extensively about being a non drinker in this alcohol soaked country all I will say is drinkers stop asking people why they don’t drink and just get their bloody Diet Coke it isn’t hard

Actually if you’re a real ally you choose a pub with nice soft drinks like Fentimans and Karma Cola etc - not one with flat draught Coke only

Oh and “let’s split the Bill equally” at a meal where the drinkers have had 2.5 bottles of wine each and the non-drinkers have had a couple of Cokes? Ask for two bills, one for food one for alcohol

Also, high end restaurants, you should be thinking about your soft drink offering. Not just coke or mocktails that are £7 for a glass of ice. Consider fruit punches or vegetable drinks that aren’t sweet that compliment dishes. I had a “temperance flight” once and it was amazing
