#KamalaHarris (and the pool) are now en route to @ShawUniversity in Raleigh.

Shaw is an #HBCU, and also where SNCC was founded. Harris is expected to give a 20 minute speech. Also the Shaw marching band will be there.

Gotta say not many commutes on 440 are like this.

Which is a block from The @newsobserver, but we're working mostly remotely nowadays.

Today's Kamala Harris speech at Shaw is just the press pool and staff here. We're sitting in social distant circles. I will now become even more annoying about saying I will "circle back" with people. So my colleagues and sources can look forward to that now.

Gotta say in the olden days campaign events there was pre-speech music. We're all just sitting here quietly typing our pre-writes. This has been your waiting on a politician report.

"We are in the middle of an election. An ongoing election," Harris said about Trump nomination of a new Supreme Court justice.

Harris is talking about Trump and his party "ignoring Justice Ginsburg's final wish."

Now on to Trump wanting to overturn the Affordable Care Act, which she called an obsession over Obama.

And that Judge Barrett would try to overturn Roe v. Wade, Harris said. "Vote as if your life, your choice, depends on it, because it does," Harris said.

What my view is:

Harris said RBG's legacy is at stake in this election.

Harris read her speech from a teleprompter for the live stream and then left. Did not take any reporter questions.

Speaking of Durham, I think I see Leonardo Williams but it's hard to tell who everyone is in masks.

Harris said Breonna Taylor was a gut punch.

"America has yet to value the sanctity of Black life," and said Taylor was a recent case of that.

"I do believe there needs to be a civil rights investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice," Harris said about Breonna Taylor. "We say her name to motivate action and that’s what’s most important."
