This is a thread of sunscreens that I have and I’m going to try. Will start with a few and keep updating it as they come.
Commentary on each will be along the lines of texture and finish, price and my personal experience and general thoughts on them.

The Unseen Sunscreen by Supergoop
TEXTURE & FINISH
- Gel texture
- comes out looking a pale translucent yellow but applies clear (as pictured)
-Velvety finish that comes with the silicone in there (dimethicone) so feels like a make up primer and is popularly used that way

1.2 ... they leave a white cast and chemical SPFs tend to leave a more natural, dewy or plain oily finish.
I do think it is a pretty penny for its size but it’s one of a kind and very easy to reapply.
Lastly, if you hate that silicone-like feeling, you won’t like this.

2.0 The Beet Shield by Krave Beauty
You might find it labeled as “Beet the Sun” too.
Because the US FDA does not recognize it as a sunscreen
TEXTURE & FINISH
- looks like condensed milk
- Feels like condensed milk
- 3rd frame is unedited
- leaves a natural dewy finish

THOUGHTS
- although I have combination oily skin, I like this sunscreen ngl
However, oilier skin types tend to find this a bit “greasy”, esp. in warmer weather
- Normal to drier skin types are likely to enjoy its finish more

THOUGHTS
- All skin types will love. Especially us oily kids
- very easy to apply and reapply
- that sunscreen smell is a bit strong to me but for all it’s pros, I can look past it.
In sum, this is
“the sunscreen for people that don’t like to wear sunscreen”- @sknperfct

4.1 ... should find it for 100ghc tops in Ghana
THOUGHTS
- smells really really sweet, no weird SPF smell.
So, if you’re sensitive to fragrance, please avoid.
- dry and combo dry skin would love this since it is very moisturizing
- Oily skin can easily skip moisturizer.

widely loved & for good reason looking at the finish & the price point. Similar to the Frudia SPF
- if you have oily skin I would recommend you skip nourishing moisturizers unless it is the very lightweight gel-to-water texture type of moisturizer.
Highly recommend.

PRICE
$15.80 at yesstyle
$22 at Ohlolly
This gap really surprised me but here in Ghana, I’ve not seen a kbeauty stockist with this Missha sunscreen.
TEXTURE & FINISH
- It is a very runny, white liquid with a pinkish tint.
- Leaves a matte almost velvety finish

This is a physical sunscreen and so clearly, it leaves a white cast behind.
My personal experience with this was that, though it left a nice matte finish that would’ve been great for first application under make up,
It was on reapplication that the ghost really came out...

- So if you’re really light/white, you might get away with the cast under make up.
Also, it made me itch badly.
- If you prefer physical sunscreens & you’re clearly not light skin, I won’t recommend this one.
It’s a hard pass for me and complexion like mine or close.

So I’d dare say this is the closest “dupe” I’ve come across to the beet shield in terms of consistency, texture and finish.
Or would it be the other way around because of the price points?

7.3 ... messed up because it tingles a bit when I begin to apply but it didn’t feel itchy and uncomfortable like the soft finish.
- moisturizer can easily be skipped with this one, especially in tropical weather/summertime
- there is a very slight whiff of the alcohol as well

It’s a nice sunscreen but not my favorite. Though the amount of product is a plus for me.
- Also, with respect to the feel and finish of it, I’d say it’s best suited to slightly dry skin types and also for cold weather and environments like offices/cars with full blast ACs
