Specially because the discipline loves to dismiss us & it takes a while to start seeing the value you bring to academic/clinic spaces.

I used to doubt the value of my experiences specially when surrounded my academics. However, I realised that my critical stance is naturally there coz it’s literally my life lol + there’s SO much that is missed that I’m sat there like: “You reallyy never thought about that?
”

So yeah, don’t ever dismiss the usefulness of your lived experiences whether that’s in psychology or any other discipline. We’re needed. Keep resisting
