It blows my mind how much of the Internet is plagiarised and I think most people have no idea of the extent. Specifically, I& #39;m thinking about business websites. [Copywriting thread starts here]
It& #39;s a frequent part of my job that I& #39;ll start doing competitor research for a client and realise that their 5 main competitors all have the same website copy. Word for word. 2/
Or someone will have an SEO crisis when their website tumbles down Google& #39;s rankings, only to realise it& #39;s because a huge proportion of their content is plagiarised. 3/
Here& #39;s the good news, though:

If you& #39;re writing, or getting someone to write, genuinely original content... Then you& #39;re already streets ahead of the competition. STREETS. AHEAD. 4/
As far as I can tell, many business owners/website owners don& #39;t even know when they& #39;re getting fed plagiarised copy. Most people don& #39;t bother with plagiarism checkers and may not even review the copy in detail. 5/
Which brings us to: How do you know you& #39;re getting the good stuff? (without having to write every word yourself)

Very simple answer... 6/
Hire good writers and pay them properly.

If someone promises you 10,000 words in 30 minutes... it& #39;s probably plagiarised.
If someone offers to write your entire website for $10... it& #39;s probably plagiarised. 7/
If your writer quotes a decent price, says they need research time, asks for more background info... they& #39;re probably doing it right.

Good writing takes time and money - but it works.
Plagiarism is cheap and fast - and it doesn& #39;t work.
