@BACP I am very disappointed that you allowed a letter to be published in Therapy Today that is clearly racist. Your argument that things are taken out of context is an apologist's
#BlackLivesMatter @Therapists_C @UK_Counsellors @MariaAlbertsen_ @aclientfirst @BlackSpaceUK
@BACP in the same edition you allowed the publication of several views which compare the anti-racist movement against the systemic oppression of the black peoples as a "slogan" and as "fashion."
@BACP You also allowed the dissemination of the myth that "to focus on race issues makes them grow" which is a "create your own reality/law of attraction" new age belief that invalidates the experience of the BAME community.
@BACP A slogan is used for advertising, like NIKE's "Just Do It". #BlackLivesMatter is the name of a MOVEMENT. Comparing a MOVEMENT against oppression with advertising and fashion in any shape or form is racist. You @BACP allow these letters to be published without a disclaimer.
@BACP BACP this is a political position that you are taking and it is incredibly disrespectful of the black colleagues who are also published in this edition and to all the BAME clients. You are adopting a position of "yes...but". This is unacceptable and a disgrace
@BACP Other organizations see this as unacceptable, why don't you? Why can't you? Why won't you?
