Why #WeddingBusinesses are viable and the Chancellor should please take another look at our £14.7b sector:
* circa £14b in 2020 weddings revenue DEFERRED NOT LOST; couples are standing by to reignite their wedding planning when restrictions are lifted. £9b+ spent on the wedding day itself | £3b+ spent in retail sector | £2b+ in travel, leisure and wedding related tourism
* Another £14b in wedding revenue standing by for 2021 (and another in 2022) when the recently engaged feel confident enough to ignite their wedding planning by booking venues and reserving wedding suppliers
* 400,000 full and part time jobs with tens of thousands of businesses of all sizes: from multi-million pound enterprises to sole traders, all driving the economy from the kitchen to board room table (and a vast number of them female driven).
* A culturally, geographically and economically diverse world-class industry that has never needed handouts or grants, yet outranks other sectors such as live sports, and generates 3x the revenue realised by live arts and cultural events. We are viable as soon as we can work!
* The #WeddingIndustry is seasonal and paralysed due to restrictions. But in the first 6 month of a resumption of normal trading we are more than VIABLE: we will generate the Treasury £2b+ in Tax +VAT making us a sure fire bet for short term investment and long term gain
