Clickbait titles for articles actually don& #39;t make the person read the content. Want proof? Read the tweet thread to find out why!

Wow, you are actually reading this? Well, let this be a lesson. What is the lesson?
diarrhea
But really, actually engaging readers to understand the content requires them to & #39;read& #39;, not just open the page for a click. Sure, a click typically means a person will read, but only if they feel the headline was genuine/accurate. If they feel they& #39;ve been duped they will LEAVE.
And we are worse off for that. You& #39;ve built a wall of distrust, and the reader hasn& #39;t actually learned anything meaningful. In fact, they may just remember the misleading headline and spout that instead, all without the reader realizing their own participation in misinformation.
Perhaps this was a heavy-handed approach for this topic, but what can I do? I& #39;ve got heavy hands.
