Donnacha Ryan with an absolutely crucial turnover penalty for Racing to earn them three points with his last contribution before being subbed off.

The Tipperary man was superb for Racing against Saracens.
The kind of fella you want in the trenches beside you in a big game.

Donnacha Ryan turns 37 in December but still playing serious rugby.
It's obvious how much of a leader Ryan is for Racing, always having a word in the ear of younger, less experienced players.

Colombe showing fatigue early in the game here, Ryan gets him standing tall.
Grumpily reorganising Camille Chat here to get himself in a better position to pressure the box kick.
Here, Ryan is suggesting that Saracens players are staying down an awful lot to slow the pace of the game.

Nigel Owens: "I'm a lot of things, but I'm not a doctor!"
Ryan won jackal turnover penalties, chased Racing kicks superbly, was part of a strong lineout effort, and was just as much of a nuisance as he always is around the maul.

Great performance.
Even after he's been subbed off, you can see Ryan's leadership after the Juan Imhoff try.

Down to the sideline in his mask, presumably appealing for focus and calm with a few minutes still still left.
He doesn't do the glamorous stuff or get the headlines, but Ryan is the kind of player every team needs.

He works hard and is selfless and tough, never any fuss.
